Recently as families across America celebrated Mother’s Day - a day set aside to honor the love, guidance, and sacrifice of moms - an ad for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese had a far less flattering portrayal of motherhood. I’m referring to Kraft’s “Swear Like a Mother” campaign. The ad is crude and degrading and sets a very poor example for our children.
Kraft may think it’s a great sales gimmick to depict mothers as potty-mouth vulgarians, however millions of grocery-shopping moms might very well be offended by this portrayal.
I want you to know how disappointed I am that a once family-oriented brand has stooped to such tasteless crudity. Instead of associating your product with wholesomeness, you have linked it with profanity. For the sake of our families, please use your ads to strengthen, not degrade, our cultural fabric.
