I’m writing to voice my complaint about the “New Love” ads Chevrolet is currently airing during the Winter Olympics. Instead of holding a neutral position in a cultural debate that has nothing to do with selling vehicles, you have made your position clear – choosing to thumb your nose at the families and values which built Chevrolet. I see this as a slap in the face to the families who have supported your company for decades.
Chevrolet may claim that “what it means to be a family has changed,” but millions of your potential customers believe that the definition of marriage and family established at the dawn of creation does not change. Chevrolet may jump on their politically-correct station wagon to scold viewers into accepting their “new love,” but as you do so you alienate me and millions of other consumers.
I am making my position clear. I will not support a company that undermines my values. I urge you to stick to selling cars, instead of taking sides in promoting a divisive ideology.
I look forward to your response.
