As a potential customer, I’m contacting you to let you know that I am appalled that JC Penney’s would blatantly trash the values held dear by millions of Americans with your promotion of lesbian couples in your Mother’s Day ad! Frankly, I see this as a slap in the face to the families that have supported your company for decades.
Instead of holding a neutral position in a cultural debate that has nothing to do with selling merchandise, you have made your position clear – choosing to thumb your nose at the families and values that built JC Penney’s.
I, too, am making my position clear. I will not support a company that undermines the family.
We have relied on the good name of JC Penney for everything from school clothes to household products. Sadly, however, that good name is now tarnished. I urge you to return to the family values upon which you were founded, instead of taking sides in promoting a divisive ideology.
