A national shopping list is difficult to develop for reasons previously mentioned in recent email alerts.

Nonetheless, there are many excellent places to do business that are local and/or regional that many of us have no awareness because we don't live in those areas. We welcome further suggestions and comments.

Here are a few other suggestions.

This is one of my top recommendations. In fact, my son and his fiance will be honeymooning there in the near future.

A few years ago I heard from a Christian mother and her son, who have several beautiful cabins at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains (Townsend, TN), that they would like us to come and stay in their cabin, Genesis! We easily complied once we saw pictures of their cabins and appreciated the gracious offer.

These wondrous cabins are beautifully nestled in a rural area yet only 25 minutes from the very commercial Gatlinburg. You can have the best of both worlds. You can enjoy God's creation and within a few minutes go into the realm of all kinds of activities imaginable: an aquarium, go carts, art galleries, fine foods, hiking locations, horse riding, helicopter rides, etc..
We were treated royally at very affordable prices.

I need to make a correction on my previous reply. I had said "Human Rights Council". It should be "Human Rights Campaign". That was my mistake, sorry. The Human Rights Campaign, per their website,(www.hrc.org), is "working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans..." Do a search on their website for "buyer's guide" and it will direct you to their 2009 buyer's guide. Again we use their guy as to where not to buy. Sorry again for the mistake.

In listing companies that try to live and operate by biblical standards, I would like to mention my husband's business - Bo's RV Center, Inc. - in Midland, TX. He works hard to keep employees and customers happy and satisfied and that is hard to do in today's world. Everywhere you turn, dealing with insurance and all, people try to get him to 'fudge' on things. He won't compromise!
