A few weeks ago, we wrote about Vogue Magazine featuring a ten year old girl in provocative poses usually reserved for women who live by the mantra, “if you’ve got it, flaunt it.”
Following is an article by one of Townhall.com’s columnists, Michael Brown, who explains that the Vogue images are just a symptom of a much bigger problem: our culture tends to hyper sexualize our children. ADA has been saying this for years, of course, but it’s encouraging to see others speak out against the sexualizing of children. What is needed is a groundswell of outrage against such attacks upon childhood innocence.

The following story saddens and disgusts me. It reminds me of the story of JonBenet Ramsey – the six year old American child beauty pageant contestant who met with an untimely death at the age of six.
Here is a family sexualizing their 10 year old daughter before a watching world.

She reclines among leopard print pillows, her rouged lips pouting at the camera. But shockingly the model in these highly sexualized pictures is only 10 years old.
