Personal note –
So how long does it take Victoria’s Secret to return to a more classic manner of advertising their wares? Let’s see it’s March 19. The announcement from Sharen Turney (February 29), “We have so much gotten off our heritage,” chief executive of Victoria’s Secret, during an analyst call with investors.
Noteworthy points from that breaking news story (2/28/08) were:
*** “Victoria’s Secret is owned by Limited Brands Inc., which on Wednesday reported a 12% decline in net income for its fiscal fourth quarter.”
*** “Malls routinely endure protests from parents who are outraged by the stores’ window displays, which often feature suggestively posed mannequins in over-the-top lingerie.”
*** “Standard & Poor’s Ratings warned it may cut the credit rating of Limited Brands to junk status because of growing concern about the company’s debt.”
*** Victoria’s Secret CEO stated VS is “too sexy.”
That was then. Now is now. I mean like yesterday. Here are several pictures in one of the areas of the country where Victoria’s Secret has been most closely tracked. Yet, VS shoves p**nographic images in our faces. How tragic!

Please understand this. Victoria’s Secret may not be altering – yet – the manner in which they advertise, but one thing that hasn’t altered and that is that Victoria’s Secret is continuing to go through a lot of volatility.
