J.C. Penney’s “Fresh Recruits campaign – Your letters do count!

April 29, 2011

Very recently we were shocked and disgusted with JC Penney and their ad that featured young teen and pre-teen girls in skimpy bikinis.   Many expressed concerns along with us though there were a few that wrote us telling us that we just need to grow up and quit being so protective.  “Everybody” dresses that way on the beach they say.

How sad to see some so degraded and desensitized that youth and innocence are not treasured or protected.

You may recall our alert last month making you aware of this concerning print ad from JC Penney.  The ad featured young teen and pre-teen girls in skimpy bikinis with the heading – “Fresh Recruits – We Make it Playful.  You Make it Fun.”

By Chris Johnson

One problem that the church in America has never yet had to face, and thus often forgets exists at all, is religious persecution. Because of our nation’s religious background and God’s tremendous blessing, American Christians have never had to fear for their lives for worshipping the wrong God, or to worry that the police would break down the doors of their church, or that Muslim fanatics would set their homes and churches on fire.

In what international critics have called Nigeria’s fairest election ever, the Nigerian people elected Goodluck Jonathan as president by a sweeping majority of 57% over his opponent who received 31% of the vote.

Why would this cause problems? Because Goodluck Jonathan is a Christian and his opponent was a Muslim.

The President’s passion: Earth Day, Gay Pride or Easter?

April 26, 2011

By Chris Johnson

For those of you who didn’t know, Earth Day was this past Friday, and President Barack Obama wants you to know that America is committed to cleaning up the environment. How do we know this? Because he made a point of issuing an Earth Day proclamation that said as much.

“Every American deserves the cleanest air, the safest water, and unpolluted land, and each person can take steps to protect those precious resources… To meet this responsibility, Federal and local programs will continue to ensure our Nation’s clean air and water laws are effective, that our communities are protected from contaminated sites and other pollution, and that our children are safe from chemicals, toxins, and other environmental threats.”

But Friday wasn’t just the day that American’s are pressured to deny themselves the comforts of the 21st century technology as an act of penance to “Mother Nature” whom we abuse so badly with our 60 watt bulbs and hot showers.

It was also the day that the majority of the country recognizes as “Good Friday,” the day our Savior was tortured to death in order to cleanse the sins of His followers. For this special occasion, the president proclaimed – absolutely nothing.
