An article in our local Grand Rapids Press from Sunday was entitled:
Users of Internet child porn fuel a ghastly sex trade, and authorities lament lasting damage to victims
The article goes on to state “…at any given time, an estimated 50,000 predators are prowling online. …”
He [a special agent] said predators also use child pornography to convince children it is OK. In some videos, children appear to “have fun”. Predators also look for vulnerabilities, maybe befriending a busy single mom.
“It’s just an insidious, insidious process,” he said.
We have chosen to focus in upon this article to once again give warning to parents to protect their children and loved ones from the devastating, degrading impact of pornography.

When we take a look at what some of the conservative legal and policy experts are saying about the president’s decision not to defend federal law in the shape of the Defense of Marriage Act, the whole setup seems to look very suspect.
Before we look at that, we should answer the question, what exactly does DOMA do?
DOMA is the law which allows states which do not allow homosexual marriage to not recognize such unions which were made in states that do allow gay marriage.

In the last few years, following the election of Barack Obama and his subsequent push for nationalized healthcare, there has been a lot of conversation about the Constitution of the United States of America.
As we know, our president once taught a class on the constitution and is, of course, an expert in all things related to it. It is safe, in light of his vast knowledge of the framework of our government, to assume that he knows what he can and cannot do in his office of president and would never over step those bounds.
